Yellowsville portraits are drawn by illustration software: an image model that we instruct with our own style rules and scene backdrops, and that redraws the people and pets in your photos as yellow cartoon characters. That is how we can show you a full preview in about a minute, for free, up to five redraws per set of photos.
What the software does
- Looks at your photos for likeness: face shape, hair, glasses, clothes, build.
- Draws everyone into the scene you chose, in our flat cartoon style.
- Redraws on request when you ask for a change, keeping everything else as it was.
What people do
- Our illustrators designed the style and the scenes the software draws into.
- When you ask, an illustrator reviews your drawing by hand and fixes what the software got wrong before it goes to print.
- A person reads every message you send us.
What we do not do
- We do not use your photos to train AI models, and neither does our model provider.
- We do not publish or reuse your photos or portraits.
- We do not draw trademarked characters or copy other artists' work.
Limits
A cartoon is an interpretation. Likeness is usually strong, but hands, very small faces in group shots and unusual accessories are where the software slips most. Free redraws exist for exactly that reason: you order only when the drawing on your screen is the one you want.
Uploaded photos are deleted automatically after 30 days. The details are in our Privacy policy.
The clearer the photo, the better the drawing. Four things matter most:
- Good light. Daylight if you can. No harsh shadows across the face and no strong light behind the person.
- Face the camera. Both eyes showing, no sunglasses, nothing covering the face. That is where the likeness lives.
- Get up close. The face should fill a good part of the frame. Distant figures come out vague.
- One clear shot. No motion blur. One person per photo works best; a group photo works too if every face is clear.
Groups and pets
Up to six people or pets per portrait: upload one photo per person, or one group shot. Pets keep their own colouring.
Files
JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC photos, up to 12 MB each. Screenshots and heavily filtered photos give weaker results.

Up to six people or pets in one portrait, all included in the price. Pets count as people.
